These pages describe the oldest surviving house in Sagamore Beach
village. It was built in the late 17th Century as a farm house
and occupied for the most part by just two families who give their names to
many places in the area. The house has an interesting history
and is intimately connected to the origins of the
village.
A
brief and incomplete history of the house, 1690-2004. The house may have
been built in Dennis and then moved by Paul Crowell. The Clarks restored
the house in early 1900's and retained it until the 1970's.
This
house has changed little since the writings of Sydney A. Clark except
that the trees may have grown bigger. All the information about the lot
and pictures of the exterior of the house.
